Over time, this excess fat can increase and eventually lead to harmful health conditions including
high blood pressure, heart disease and even heart attacks and stroke. It is incredibly important, therefore,
to learn exactly how to burn fat and get into the best shape of your life.
The good news is, just about anyone can learn how to burn fat. The bad news is it requires a pretty good
deal of work to get the job done. Below are some tips that will help you reach your goal of shedding unwanted fat
and getting into shape.
1. Pick up the weights!-I know, we were talking about losing fat, not gaining muscle, so what’s the
deal with suggestions about weight lifting? Well, in case you didn’t know, a pound of muscle at rest burns more
than 3 times the amount of calories that a pound of fat does when at rest.
Therefore, the more muscle you build, the more fat you burn. In addition, weight training itself can burn
as much or MORE calories than even cardio exercise does. Pick up the weights and lose the fat!
2. Intensity is the key-When working out, you need to focus on the intensity of your training, not just
the fact that you are doing something. If you are just starting out, it is safe to start slow, but as you make
progress, work to continually add intensity to your workouts to help speed up the results you desire.
Your body can get used to physical activity and if you never increase the intensity, soon enough, your
body will get used to the work it is doing and your fat loss will stop. But, if you constantly make the workouts
more challenging, your fat loss is less likely to plateau.
3. If you want to get fit, get HIIT-If you want to learn how to burn fat, then stick with the principles
of HIIT. HIIT stands for High Intensity Interval Training. Studies have shown that HIIT training is perhaps the
most effective type of exercise you can do to promote fat loss.
HIIT workouts are characterized by period of low intensity exercise followed by short bursts of incredibly
high intensity ones. For instance, jogging at a slow pace for 2-3 minutes followed by sprinting at all out
intensity for 30 seconds would be one HIIT interval.
Repeating this 6-8 times would be a HIIT workout and can lead to significant calories burned and fat loss
over time. Ever seen the body of a sprinter?
Compare that to that of a marathon runner…both have little fat, but one has serious muscle and the
physique of a Greek god…which do you prefer? HIIT training will help get you there.
There you have it, 3 simple steps to help you learn how to burn fat and get into the best shape of your
life. Take it slow, add intensity as you make progress, and be consistent. You will achieve the body of your dreams
before you know it.
